About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Sticks and Stones restaurant inc. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Training
    • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and equipment training programs for kitchen staff.
    • Supervise and mentor specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Menu Development and Planning
    • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create new recipes and menus that meet the highest quality standards.
    • Plan and execute menu cycles, ensuring consistency and excellence in food presentation.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Implement and maintain strict food safety and quality control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy dining environment.
    • Conduct regular kitchen audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Team Management and Communication
    • Lead and motivate kitchen staff to achieve exceptional service standards.
    • Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef, kitchen staff, and other departments to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
    • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
