Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Extendicare Canada Inc., you will play a vital role in enhancing the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily. You will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Ensure that care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians' orders, and administrative policies. Observe, report, and record vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents/patients.
- Assess and Develop Care Plans: Assist in assessing patients/residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans. Monitor health, note changes in condition, and assess the need for referral to doctors. Process and implement physicians' orders.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to residents.
- Manage and Coordinate Care: Ensure that care is provided in a timely and efficient manner, and that residents' needs are met.
- Certification and Registration: Hold a current certificate of competence from the approved institutions for the province and be registered or eligible for registration with the approved institutions for the province.
- Experience and Skills: Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare is preferred. Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired, comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, and knowledge in infection control practices are essential.
- Personal Qualities: Demonstrate a commitment to working with seniors, ability to present information clearly and effectively, and organizational, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
