Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our organization, ensuring that our HR practices and policies align with our values and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Administration: Provide administrative support to the HR department, including maintaining employee records, processing payroll, and managing benefits.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent, manage the hiring process, and ensure compliance with employment equity and human rights legislation.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, and support the development of our organization's talent.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with our organization's values and goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, and identify and mitigate potential risks to the organization.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on generalist HR roles.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legislation, including employment equity and human rights.
