Critical Care Nurses at Halton Healthcare are responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership and assessment skills, as well as excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including those requiring invasive monitoring and life-sustaining therapies.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting teamwork and cooperation.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current Critical Care Certificate or in progress.
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Critical Care setting.
- Ability to interpret advanced arrhythmias and 12-lead ECG.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and assessment skills.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to work well under stress.
- Proven history of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning.
- Knowledge and skill of PRISMA machine.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
