Job Title: Senior Legal Advisor

Join National Bank as a Senior Legal Advisor and take on a challenging role in our Compliance sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert interpretations and strategic advice to management on screening activities and regulatory reporting.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team. As a Senior Legal Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert interpretations and advice on screening activities and regulatory reporting
  • Developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards
  • Collaborating with senior management to develop and implement innovative solutions
  • Representing the Bank on industry committees and participating in internal committees that require a high level of expertise
About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic team of 15 colleagues in the Compliance sector, reporting to the Senior Manager of Independent Evaluation, Screening and Regulatory Reporting Team. Our team is known for its diversity of expertise and stimulating work environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in law and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Membership in the Barreau du Québec or equivalent
  • Experience in financial crime management, compliance, and/or risk management
  • In-depth knowledge of anti-money laundering and international sanctions activities
