Project Technologist (Water and Wastewater)

Emissions Reduction and Compliance

Pinchin Ltd. is looking for a skilled Project Technologist to enhance our Emissions Reduction and Compliance group's Water and Wastewater Services Team.

As a Project Technologist, you will be responsible for executing various sampling projects related to wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water. Your role will involve assessment, collaboration on treatment system design and permitting, sample coordination, data analysis, and report preparation. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineers to assist clients in fulfilling their environmental regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

  • Assist the Water and Wastewater Services Team with diverse water-related projects, including managing sample bottle inventory, coordinating sampling events, and developing sampling plans.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of improvements for drinking water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet client expectations.
  • Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections to evaluate site conditions, system performance, and compliance with regulations, providing suitable solutions and strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in infrastructure design.
  • Prepare proposal documents and aid in managing project budgets and invoicing under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Exhibit professional conduct while representing Pinchin, adhering to quality control and health and safety protocols in all settings.
Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A college diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, environmental, natural, or chemical sciences is essential.
  • 1 – 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial or consulting environment is preferred.
  • Eligibility for future licensure with a professional organization such as PEO (P.Eng.), OACETT (C.Tech or C.E.T), or ECO Canada (EP) is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment and lift up to 20kg.
  • A valid driver's license with adequate insurance and access to a vehicle is necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Capable of reading, understanding, and proofreading all written reports and correspondence.
