Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Water and Waste team at the City of Winnipeg. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and administering projects related to wastewater collection, treatment, and planning studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and maintain control of projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Make effective use of resources and personnel to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure projects meet technical, financial, and organizational requirements.
  • Administer capital budgets and ensure projects are completed within approved limits.
  • Manage project schedules and timelines.
  • Collect and disseminate project information.
  • Identify, analyze, and respond to project risks.
  • Acquire goods and services from external organizations as needed.
  • Obtain necessary approvals and permits from other City and Provincial departments.
  • Provide engineering services for facility upgrades and new construction.
  • Chair technical advisory committee meetings.
  • Administer consultants on various projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Biosystems, or Mechanical engineering.
  • Proven ability in project management processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge in wastewater hydraulic modeling, calibration, and analysis.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office and MS Project.
  • Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills.

  • The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada.
