Position Summary

The Senior Director of Supply Chain is a critical leadership position responsible for steering strategic initiatives that underpin the growth trajectory of Acuity Brands. This role is instrumental in supporting the company’s expansion into new markets and enhancing product offerings. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the Senior Director will define the strategic vision for the supply chain, develop actionable solutions to foster commercial growth, and ensure the achievement of key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy aimed at optimizing service levels across diverse customer segments, focusing on risk management, cost efficiency, and product quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams during the early phases of product development to secure partnerships with top-tier suppliers, ensuring high-quality inputs and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Lead the deployment of Integrated Business Planning strategies, aligning operational plans with strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of a global footprint strategy to facilitate international growth.
  • Drive digital transformation within the supply chain, ensuring the adoption of best practices and tools that enhance operational excellence.
  • Implement corporate purchasing policies and assist other departments in establishing optimal supplier partnerships.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on strategic initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assess and refine the make-or-buy strategy for raw materials and finished goods, considering factors such as cost, quality, and scalability.
  • Offer guidance on inventory management practices to maintain optimal service levels and inventory turnover.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish robust systems for data collection and analysis to ensure the integrity of supply chain data and monitor performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives within the supply chain framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with a proven track record in strategic sourcing and digital transformation.
  • Experience in the electronics sector is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and manage through ambiguity.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving change.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
