Octopus Academy Richmond Seeks Full-Time Infant Daycare Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Infant Daycare Worker to join our team at Octopus Academy Richmond.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to infants and toddlers, creating a safe and nurturing environment that fosters their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily activities, including storytelling and reading, to promote cognitive development and a love for learning.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that cater to the unique needs and interests of each child.
  • Provide basic care, including bathing, diapering, and feeding, while maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment, ensuring the overall welfare of the children in our care.
  • Assist and support early childhood educators and assistants in planning and implementing activities that promote learning and development.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and guardians, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
  • Recognize and report any signs of learning or behavioral issues, providing recommendations for support and intervention.
  • Present children's progress and challenges in staff meetings, ensuring that all team members are informed and engaged.
  • Evaluate the interests and needs of children, engaging in discussions with parents and staff regarding their progress and any obstacles they may be facing.
Requirements:
  • Experience in early childhood education is an asset, but not required.
  • College Certificate or diploma in early childhood education is required.
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, E.C.E., and IT are necessary.
