Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of production processes and products.
  • Collaborate effectively with various departments such as Engineering, Inside Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Sales.
  • Develop standard cost rates.
  • Coordinate the collection of all program costs necessary for quotes and assess their reasonableness.
  • Prepare production part costs for new initiatives and maintain these costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and customer quotations, as well as business cases for all production parts, prototypes, alerts, and tooling throughout the program's duration.
  • Review and authorize all cost modifications impacting master files that influence program costs, including standard cost and gross margin reporting and analysis.
  • Participate as a member of the cross-functional team (CFT) for designated programs, ensuring all financial activities are managed effectively.
  • Maintain Cost Reduction Roadmaps, actively identifying and engaging in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Execute month-end procedures, including inventory management, variance analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with quarterly sales forecasting.
  • Conduct profitability analysis on a part/product/customer basis.
  • Provide financial analysis related to long-term agreement pricing.
  • Continuously enhance the efficiency of the quoting process.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or a business-related field is essential.
  • Active involvement or progress towards an accounting designation is advantageous.
  • Ability to spend time on the production floor to understand processes and products is necessary.
  • Demonstrated initiative and capability to drive improvements.
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of cost accounting and analytical techniques.
  • Proficient in Excel and other computer applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work under general direction while demonstrating initiative is essential.
