Position Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of production processes and product lines.
  • Collaborate effectively with various departments, including Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, and Operations.
  • Assist in the development of standard cost rates.
  • Coordinate the collection of all program costs necessary for quotations and assess their reasonableness.
  • Prepare production part costs for new initiatives and maintain these throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Support the preparation of cost analyses and customer quotations for production parts, prototypes, and tooling.
  • Review and authorize all cost modifications impacting program costs, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of standard costs and gross margins.
  • Participate as a member of the cross-functional team for designated programs, overseeing all financial activities.
  • Maintain Cost Reduction Roadmaps and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Execute month-end procedures, including inventory management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in quarterly sales forecasting.
  • Conduct profitability analyses on a part/product/customer basis.
  • Provide financial insights related to long-term agreements.
  • Continuously enhance the efficiency of the quoting process.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or business is essential.
  • Active involvement in pursuing an accounting designation is advantageous.
  • Willingness to spend time on the production floor to understand processes and products is necessary.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a drive for improvement are crucial.
  • Strong business acumen with a solid grasp of cost accounting and analytical techniques is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other computer applications is mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to work independently while also taking direction is required.
