About the Role

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial expertise to various automotive manufacturing programs throughout the program life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of production processes and products
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Engineering, Inside Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Sales
  • Develop standard cost rates
  • Coordinate the receipt of all program costs required for quote capital and review for reasonableness
  • Prepare production part costs for new programs and maintain these costs throughout the program
  • Assist in preparing costing and customer quotations and business cases for all production parts, prototypes, alerts, and tooling throughout the program life cycle
  • Review and approve all cost changes that affect program costs, including standard cost and gross margin reporting and analyses
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for designated programs and ensure all financial activities are completed
  • Maintain Cost Reduction Roadmaps, including identifying and participating in continuous improvement and cost reduction activities
  • Perform month-end procedures, including inventory, inventory variances, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Assist with sales forecasting on a quarterly basis
  • Provide profitability analysis on a part/product/customer basis
  • Provide financial analysis related to long-term agreement pricing
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of the quoting process
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in an accounting or business discipline
  • Active involvement or achievement in an accounting designation is an asset
  • Ability to spend time on the production floor and understand production processes and products
  • Possess a high level of initiative and ability to drive improvements
  • Strong business acumen and sound knowledge of cost accounting and business analytical techniques
  • Strong Excel and computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under general direction and show initiative
