Job Purpose:

The Reliability Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our bakery. This position is responsible for improving equipment performance and reducing technical downtime through proper maintenance and equipment overhauls. The successful candidate will lead efforts to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in regular maintenance and operation meetings to review maintenance needs and ensure effective equipment performance
  • Develop and execute a predictive maintenance program across the bakery, based on risk assessments and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Lead annual equipment overhauls, including assessment, spare part ordering, and contractor engagement, to improve overall equipment performance
  • Analyze daily reports and apply data to predictive maintenance through computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Ensure seamless processes between maintenance, spare part availability, ordering, and inventory
  • Ensure accurate equipment identification, tasks, and frequency in the SAP PM system
  • Train, coach, and develop new maintenance employees to accelerate learning and competency
  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems affecting plant operations
  • Oversee breakdown management, including troubleshooting, reporting, and recurrence prevention
  • Establish benchmark KPIs for maintenance completion, overhaul activities, and equipment performance
  • Coordinate vendor PMs and perform random checks to ensure reliability and quality of work
  • Develop and coordinate plans for equipment reconstruction or installation
  • Establish strong relationships with work groups and collaborate effectively

Requirements:

  • Valid license or more than 10 years of experience in the trade required
  • Certificate of Qualifications, Ontario Industrial Mechanic Millwright
  • Comfortable with Solid Works and Design Engineering
  • Self-managed team builder with excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
