Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents and patients with their personal activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and patients, promoting a sense of well-being and dignity.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring residents and patients receive nutritious and safe food.
  • Participate in care planning and implementation, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the unique needs of each resident and patient.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
  • One to two years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to interact well with others, including residents, patients, families, and healthcare staff.
