As a Health Care Aide with Southern Health-Santé Sud, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents and patients. Under the guidance of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, or Registered Psychiatric Nurses, you will assist with daily living activities, ensuring the well-being and dignity of our clients.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the core values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence, and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision. A Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program is required, and previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents and patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
  • Participate in care planning and implementation
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect client autonomy

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program
  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy clients (with assistance)
