Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents and patients with their personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and patients.
  • Assist with mealtime and hydration needs.
  • Participate in care planning and implementation.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
  • One to two years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 7.75 hour shifts, with a mix of days, evenings, and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to complete a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
