Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned lawyer with a strong background in construction and business law to support our management and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of commercial and contractual matters, as well as experience in dispute prevention and resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret various contracts and commercial documents related to construction projects.
  • Develop and update contract models and tools to facilitate contract management and understanding by internal teams.
  • Advise management and internal teams on legal requirements and risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice on dispute resolution and claims management, focusing on proactive and practical solutions.
  • Manage litigation and structuring projects for the organization.
  • Provide training to internal teams and perform other tasks related to the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws and membership in a Canadian bar association, with US bar association membership being an asset.
  • At least 7 years of experience in construction and/or business law, particularly in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral, as well as strong communication and popularization skills.
  • Adaptability and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in the renewable energy, engineering, and construction industry.
