The Opportunity

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic and administrative projects, including training & development, policy development, performance management, health and safety, payroll/benefits, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist team members with HR concerns, coach leaders on best practices, and serve as the main point of contact for the HR department
  • Maintain the employee handbook, company policies, employee directory, and organizational chart
  • Manage and lead training and development activities
  • Oversee the annual performance review process
  • Support and administer the progressive discipline program
  • Conduct investigations
  • Sit on the JHSC and schedule and assist with walkthroughs and manage H&S concerns
  • Work on various HR projects and maintain team member files
  • Act as the back-up for payroll processing and assist the HR coordinator with recruitment as needed
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation
  • Previous experience with Health & Safety
  • Knowledge and experience with conducting workplace investigations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • CHRP designation
  • JHSC Part 1 and 2 Certification
  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system
  • Experience leading large-scale HR projects
