Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. As a key member of our interdisciplinary resident care team, you will provide high-quality nursing services to residents with complex and unpredictable health needs.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing services to residents, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs.
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, medical professionals, and support staff to achieve the mission of MCH for quality resident care.
- Utilize a continual process of assessment and evaluation skills to provide restorative, rehabilitative, and personal nursing care on a resident care unit.
- May be responsible for directing other nurses, students, healthcare aides, and other support staff in the performance of resident care.
- Three (3) years current clinical experience in gerontology preferred.
- Combination of education and experience will be considered, including recent student practicum.
- Graduate of an approved nursing educational program.
- Current registration with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
- Ability to prioritize care for an individual resident to a group of residents.
- Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care.
- Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
- Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
- Ability to perform independently and as a member of the healthcare team.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment.
- Critical thinking/problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of MDS.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Must be flexible.
- Must be self-directed and have the ability to work in a rapidly changing internal and external environment.
- May be required to work extended hours.
- May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals.
- Involves physical activities such as standing, transferring, and transporting residents and equipment.
- May encounter exposure to disease, radiation, toxic material, noise, allergens, blood, feces, body fluids, etc.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
