Job Description
BMO is actively seeking a Market Risk Analyst for a 6-month contract.
The group is responsible for delivering precise and comprehensive market risk assessments while upholding operational processes and protocols. This role is crucial in supporting an efficient Market Risk management function, ensuring accurate data handling, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
This position will facilitate the complete process of market risk analytics and reporting, ensuring timely, accurate, and thorough market risk measurements.
- Organizes and executes tasks to deliver timely, precise, and efficient scheduled and ad hoc processes. Aids in maintaining operational procedures and processes related to team mandates and functionalities.
- Assists in the monitoring, maintenance, and evaluation of key Market Risk indicators, data, and attributes, including trading limits, daily P&L backtesting, and associated investigations.
- Analyzes and communicates the factors and trends affecting the market risk profile of each business line.
- Ensures robust governance and effective controls across activities and information in alignment with team, departmental, enterprise, and regulatory standards. Provides information and supports internal and external audit processes.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Market Risk Calculations: 2 years (Required)
- Excel and VBA: 2 years (Required)
- Capital Markets Knowledge: 1 year (Required)
- Data Analysis (SQL): 2 years (Required)
- Python: 1 year (Desired)
Education/Certifications:
- Undergraduate Degree in a Related Field
- CFM/FRM Designation (Desired)
