Overview of the Role of an IT Audit Specialist at Northbridge Financial
The IT Audit Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering independent and objective evaluations and advisory services aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the Company's IT operations. This position is essential in helping the organization achieve its goals by employing a structured and methodical approach to assess and enhance key technology risk management, control, and governance processes.
The primary responsibility of the IT Audit Specialist includes assisting Senior Management and the Audit and Risk Committee in pinpointing significant Technology risks and offering insightful recommendations to foster effective IT controls and sound business practices through independent, risk-based assurance services that aim to enhance the organization’s IT operations.
In essence, this role is vital for the success of our Internal Audit team.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulating the annual SOX plan related to internal controls over business and financial systems, applications, and infrastructure. Collaborating with IT governance to update process documentation and control descriptions. Reviewing and revising IT audit test plans to ensure that critical risks are adequately addressed. Conducting tests of IT controls, including the preparation of working papers that outline test plans, fieldwork, and documentation of results. Leading operational audits to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes designed to mitigate key IT risks as specified in the Internal Audit Plan, focusing on areas such as governance, risk management, infrastructure, security, asset management, cloud environments, and third-party risk. Ensuring the quality of audit processes and documentation aligns with the IPPF standards.Required Qualifications:
Relevant post-secondary education. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT auditing. Completion of CISA certification. Additional professional certifications, such as CIA, CISSP, or CISM, are advantageous. Strong understanding of the IPPF and COBIT or similar frameworks. Familiarity with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.Our Commitment to You:
