Job Title: Advanced Practice Clinical Leader

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, temporary Advanced Practice Clinical Leader in the Psychosis Recovery and Treatment (PRT) Service, Clinical Care.

Job Summary

This role involves supporting point-of-care staff in the implementation and evaluation of best practices in the assessment, treatment, and recovery of patients with acute psychiatric illnesses and concurrent substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support models of care and role model clinical practice in complex care situations
  • Engage in direct care activities for complex and high-risk clients
  • Support interprofessional collaborative care, academic, and research opportunities
  • Promote the implementation and audit of documentation standards
  • Participate in or facilitate quality improvement projects and quality reviews focusing on patient safety
  • Supervise graduate students
  • Participate in program planning and evaluation, support integrated care pathways to enhance patient outcomes, and play an active role on internal and external committees
  • Serve as a clinical resource in service-level and organizational-level strategic planning activities for both inpatient and outpatient services
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in a regulated health discipline and be a member of good standing in the regulatory body. In addition, 5 years' experience in mental health and addiction treatment is required. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of the complex psychiatric and physical health needs of this clinical population. Additional qualifications such as CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health, or other relevant certification, are an asset. Eligibility for cross-appointment at the University of Toronto is also required.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to provide professional practice leadership, challenge and motivate others, a commitment to enhancing academic and research endeavours, experience in leading change, and the ability to provide advanced clinical care in a culturally diverse environment. Previous advanced practice/administrative/academic scholarship is an asset. The candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, teaching, and computer skills. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
