Compensation: Salary range: US$184,985 - US$214,514 per annum

Position Overview: The Interventional Vascular Specialist is responsible for diagnosing and treating disorders related to the lymphatic system and peripheral blood vessels. This role encompasses the management of various medical conditions, including carotid artery diseases, aneurysms, critical limb ischemia, venous disorders, and lymphoedemas. The specialist collaborates closely with the Haemodialysis unit to ensure timely access for dialysis procedures. Additionally, this position provides expert guidance to the Health Services Authority (HSA) management and leads initiatives related to vascular techniques, procedures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage both inpatient and outpatient cases on a weekly basis, addressing both emergency and scheduled surgical interventions.
  2. Generate patient referrals primarily from the HSA and also from private practices and local healthcare facilities.
  3. Conduct reconstructive and restorative surgical procedures, including but not limited to balloon angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, removal of thrombi, arterial repair or bypass, and establishing vascular access for haemodialysis.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate must have completed post-graduate training in Vascular Surgery (DM or FRCS Vascular Surgery) or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. A minimum of five (5) years of post-specialization experience in a relevant hospital setting is required. Significant expertise in both reconstructive vascular surgery and endovascular techniques is essential. Furthermore, the candidate must possess a valid medical license from one of the following jurisdictions: Jamaica, Canada, USA, United Kingdom, New Zealand, South Africa, or Australia, as stipulated by the Health Practice Law.

Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is crucial for success in this role.

In addition to the base salary, the organization offers comprehensive healthcare coverage at no cost to employees, a pension plan, paid holidays, 25 days of annual leave, training leave, and coverage for initial and annual licensing fees.
