Role Overview

The Project Coordinator, reporting directly to the Project Manager, plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily administrative operations of construction projects. This position serves as the primary point of contact for jobsite teams and various project stakeholders. Key responsibilities include coordinating timelines, securing necessary permits and licenses, and liaising with contractors and suppliers. Additionally, the Project Coordinator is tasked with preparing and maintaining essential project documentation to ensure compliance with project goals, building codes, insurance requirements, and local safety standards. Effective communication and the seamless flow of project plans are vital throughout the project lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the administrative components of construction projects, focusing on scheduling, quality assurance, resource management, and task oversight to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and consistently update project schedules, monitor progress, identify potential setbacks, and communicate challenges to relevant stakeholders to maintain project timelines
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, specifications, purchase orders, revisions, and change orders
  • Organize, distribute, track, and file project documents to keep all parties informed and compliant
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction quality and adherence to building codes, regulations, and project specifications
  • Facilitate effective communication among internal and external stakeholders, including site teams, architects, engineers, contractors, insurance providers, and subcontractors, to ensure project alignment

Additionally, the Project Coordinator must be vigilant about potential risks and hazards on construction sites, assisting in communicating mitigation strategies to stakeholders to prevent disruptions or delays in project schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building regulations
  • Experience in a similar capacity is advantageous
  • Proficient in computer applications and software tools relevant to project management
