About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Professional to join our team at Kiu Japanese Restaurant as an Executive Chef. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for leading our culinary operations and ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to our kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, to ensure that our menu items are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with our culinary team to develop and implement new menu items, specials, and promotions that showcase our Japanese cuisine.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, storage, and inventory of all kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment to ensure that we have the necessary resources to meet our culinary needs.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all menu items meet our high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Team Management: Supervise and train our kitchen staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a strong passion for Japanese cuisine and a willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a Japanese restaurant or kitchen.
  • Work Setting: Our restaurant is a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to work well under pressure to meet the demands of our guests and kitchen operations.
  • Physical Capabilities: You must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects, as required by the demands of the kitchen.
  • Personal Suitability: You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a team player, and have a strong client focus.
Cuisine Specialties

We specialize in Japanese cuisine, and you must have a strong passion for this type of cooking and be able to prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes to a high standard.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Our restaurant operates in a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to work well under pressure to meet the demands of our guests and kitchen operations. You must also be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects, as required by the demands of the kitchen.
