Markham, Canada MBI Brands Full time

The Buyer will be a key member of the Procurement / Culinary team at MBI Brands. Reporting to the Senior Director, Procurement, this role will work closely with Culinary ,Supply Chain and Construction.

**Responsibilities**
- Work closely with Supply Chain to maintain vendor performance.
- Work with Culinary to assist in sourcing new vendors and products to support the foodservice strategy.
- Work with construction to make sure adequate inventory is maintained for our continued growth.
- RFP assigned Categories.
- Lead the parts inventory strategy.
- Assist the restaurants with equipment issues (connecting them to the right service people) during the first two weeks of opening.
- Conduct competitive market price analysis.
- Analyze, negotiate, and manage various types of purchasing contracts for services & equipment.
- Continuous review of market conditions to proactively maximize savings and minimize price fluctuations.
- Assist in creating the Annual Operating Plan: manage and maintain up-to-date costs/expenses on a period basis to ensure accurate market updates and business forecast.
- Contribute to the international supply strategy when needed.
- Actively participates in positive and constructive communication across all departments.
- Conducts themselves in a solutions-based manner, solving problems collectively and reporting any concerns at an appropriate time to the executive management.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- 4+ years of purchasing experience.
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry or franchise business is an asset.
- Be able to assist in any category
- Experience with food Service equipment (considered an asset)
- Ability to work independently.
- Analytical ability to review budgets, recognize market trends and opportunities for growth.
- Proficient in MS Office suite

**Education / Certification**
- Completion of a university degree or completion of a college diploma in a related field, preferably supply chain management or equivalent.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an asset.
