Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Infrastructure Engineering team. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for mentoring, growing, and empowering a team of engineers to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure that powers our entire company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance to the team, ensuring alignment with overall engineering strategy and business goals.
  • Infrastructure Ownership: Be responsible for the availability, scalability, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with other teams and platforms.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Partner with peer organizations to ensure their infrastructure needs are met, leveraging Platform-as-a-Service experience to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Culture of Execution: Build a culture of execution excellence, defining metrics, tools, and practices to ensure the team delivers significant business impact.
  • Performance Management: Provide regular feedback and coaching to team members, ensuring they have the skills and support needed to succeed.
  • Technical Direction: Align the design and technology choices with overall engineering strategy, ensuring initiatives are aligned with top business goals.
  • Hiring and Talent Development: Attract and retain top talent to help build and grow our infrastructure posture.
Requirements
  • Experience in delivering large-scale projects, including technical deep-dives and solving production issues in areas such as compute, networking, communications, storage, operating systems, and software engineering.
  • A consistent track record of leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring geographically distributed teams for 4+ years.
  • Experience writing production-quality code in a major programming language, such as Python, Java, or Go.
  • Ability to empower teams and resolve disagreements with empathy and clarity.
  • Experience building services and taking projects from inception to production.
  • Deep understanding of Linux, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, with experience in service mesh architecture a plus.
  • Endorsement of infrastructure as code and passion for software development and automation.
  • Strong perspective on positive customer and developer experience.
  • Production experience with building infrastructure on public cloud technologies and leading Incident Management at scale.
About You

You will be a technical leader who can drive innovation and excellence in our Infrastructure Engineering team. You will work closely with other Platform Infrastructure and Product teams to build and scale their services, leveraging your expertise in cloud computing, networking, systems design, and architecture.
