About the Role

RideCo is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is highly available, scalable, and secure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Build Infrastructure: Design and build cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
  • Lead Architectural Changes: Lead architectural changes to improve performance, uptime, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop Monitoring and Alerting: Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure our cloud infrastructure is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Build Tools and Automate Processes: Build tools and automate processes to streamline development and deployment of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Architect Distributed Applications: Architect highly available real-time distributed applications, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and performant.
  • Work with Diverse Stacks: Work with diverse stacks, including stateful and stateless services, to ensure our cloud infrastructure is flexible and adaptable.
  • Improve Auto-Scaling and Self-Healing: Improve the platform's auto-scaling and self-healing capabilities to ensure our cloud infrastructure is always available and performing optimally.
  • Maximize Cloud Resource Utilization: Maximize utilization of cloud resources to balance performance and cost.
  • Plan and Execute OS and Application Upgrades: Plan and execute OS and application upgrades in the cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to our services.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience working in software development environments, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and DevOps.
  • Skills: Strong systems experience, excellent interpersonal communication, and experience accepting and giving meaningful feedback on technical designs and implementations.
  • Cloud Expertise: Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, EC2, ECS, and RDS.
  • Automation: Strong predilection for automation, including IaC and Terraform.
  • Scripting: Strong scripting skills, including Python and Shell.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloud Programming: Experience with cloud programming languages, including Python and Java.
  • Containerization: Experience with containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Database Administration: Experience with database administration, including PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • High Availability Caching: Experience with high availability caching, including Redis and nginx proxy.
  • Container Orchestration: Experience with container orchestration, including Kubernetes and ECS.
