About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Developer to join our team at Airbus Canada. As a key member of our Architecture and System team, you will play a critical role in accelerating our cloud services developments and re-platforming our current airline solutions to take advantage of the cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction for AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Define and create guard rails and automatic compliance checks.
  • Support our DevOps pipeline.
  • Research, evaluate, and select tools to support our pipeline, infrastructure as code, guard rails, and compliance checks.
  • Evangelize and advocate for standard processes and infrastructure as code modules across teams.
  • Support and mentor teams with the use of infrastructure as code and our common modules.
  • Communicate project/work status orally, written, or other as required.
  • Connect with Product Owners, Chapter Leaders, Tribe Leaders, and Architects to understand and incorporate our infrastructure needs into roadmap items.
  • Bring cloud-first solutioning to designs and decisions.
  • Maintain/Create documentation for applications, tools, or systems as required.
  • Ownership and support for designated services and components.
  • Participate and lead design meetings.
  • Provide analysis and estimates for work required within the area of responsibility.
  • Review all code committed by others into the assigned area of ownership.
  • Be the primary person responsible for defect fixing and new development within the assigned code area.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • A proven track record in software development, build process, and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of software development platforms.
  • Extensive experience developing build pipelines, including supporting and standardizing multiple active build chains.
  • Experience with developing infrastructure as code.
  • AWS Certificates Preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS Cloud Development (experience with ECS, RDS, Lambda, SQS, and SNS is a plus).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong networking experience.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker is a plus).
  • Strong working knowledge of IaC deployment and tooling (CloudFormation and Terraform are a plus).
  • Experience with using and configuring GitLab and CloudBees CI/CD pipelines.
  • Interacting with Git repositories.
  • Excellent scripting skills (Python is a plus).
