Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Architecture and System team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in accelerating the development of our new cloud services and re-platforming existing airline solutions to leverage the power of AWS.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Define and implement robust guardrails and automated compliance checks for our cloud environment.
  • Support and enhance our DevOps pipeline, ensuring continuous integration and delivery.
  • Research, evaluate, and select tools to optimize our pipeline, infrastructure as code, guardrails, and compliance processes.
  • Promote standardized processes and infrastructure as code modules across development teams.
  • Mentor and assist teams in the effective utilization of infrastructure as code and common modules.
  • Communicate project status and updates effectively through various channels.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Chapter Leaders, Tribe Leaders, and Architects to align infrastructure needs with roadmap priorities.
  • Champion a cloud-first approach in design decisions and implementations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, tools, and systems as required.
  • Take ownership and provide support for designated services and components. Participate actively in design meetings, conduct analysis, and provide accurate estimates for work within your area of responsibility. Review all code committed by others to ensure adherence to standards. Be the primary point of contact for defect fixing and new development within your assigned code area.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in software development, build processes, and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with various software development platforms is beneficial.
  • Extensive experience in developing build pipelines, including supporting and standardizing multiple active build chains.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) deployment and tooling.

Skills:

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS Cloud Development (experience with ECS, RDS, Lambda, SQS, and SNS is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Solid networking experience.
