Job Overview:

Lehigh Hanson is looking for a dedicated, safety-conscious, and reliable Electrician to become part of our skilled workforce. In this role, you will be tasked with the installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical and electronic systems, components, and devices for machinery and equipment within an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electrical repairs and maintenance, including disassembly, overhaul, assembly, and adjustments of crushing, screening, or mobile equipment components.
  • Perform electrical maintenance on ready-mix concrete facilities.
  • Replace or repair defective electrical components of machinery, including relays, motors, switches, printed circuit boards, and position sensing devices. Rewire motors as necessary.
  • Utilize PC and PLC programming to troubleshoot process control issues for automated machinery and calibrate instrumentation using programming devices.
  • Diagnose and repair variable speed drives, process analyzers, and measuring instruments.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures and identify issues. Update prints to reflect field modifications.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other electrical and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot problems or repair machinery.
  • Install power or instrumentation wiring and conduit for machinery and equipment.
  • Employ standard hand tools, instruments, and power tools as required.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Valid interprovincial or Red Seal Electrician certification.
  • Familiarity with HMI and PLC control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capability to perform all technical aspects of the job using appropriate tools or systems.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy loads, occasionally exceeding 75 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Capability to perform tasks involving lifting, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
