About the Role:This is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering organization in Indigenous capital market advancement and contribute to its successful growth and strategic development. As a Director, Financial Accounting & Business Support, you will be accountable for:
- Implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure timely, complete, and accurate regulatory compliance financial records.
- Providing professional advice and quality information to support the trading desk with front office initiatives and deployment of business strategies, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, statutory, and tax requirements.
- Ensuring the integrity and timely filing of monthly and annual financial information, both regulatory and statutory, and as included in Scotiabank's overall reporting.
- Managing and overseeing business operations and internal controls to support risk culture and relevant risk appetite frameworks and limits.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A professional accounting designation with a minimum 10 years' experience in a senior management capacity.
- Experience working with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) and/or the Ontario Securities Commission.
- Strong technical skills and extensive knowledge of the investment business, particularly in a debt capital raising capacity.
- Trade life-cycle experience, including monitoring the settlement of trades and managing the deployment and implementation of a Third-party Carrying Broker platform.
- Ability to manage banking operations and experience with the primary market issuance process.
- Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills, with excellent analytical skills and decision-making abilities.
