Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced 4th Class Power Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant, including equipment and building repairs, while adhering to quality, safety, and legislative guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections and monitoring of refrigeration plants, hot water systems, and waste water plants, ensuring compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with maintenance attendants and mechanics to troubleshoot and repair equipment, minimizing downtime and costs.
  • Assist production and sanitation teams as needed, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Respond promptly to breakdown calls, assessing and repairing equipment to limit plant/machine downtime.
  • Ensure secondary production equipment is maintained according to our preventative maintenance program.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and plant employees to ensure smooth operations.
  • Report defects, errors, and machinery issues to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Complete paperwork, including daily work sheets, preventative maintenance logs, and work orders, as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform building repairs with a high level of concentration and alertness.
  • Have a thorough understanding of JSA's, SOP's, and HACCP, BRC, or other food safety compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Education.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • Post-secondary education and training, preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
