Job Summary

Sunrise Farms is a leading agricultural company with a focus on poultry production. We are seeking a highly skilled 4th Class Power Engineer to join our maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inspections of the plant's equipment and systems, including refrigeration, hot water, and wastewater treatment, to ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with maintenance attendants and mechanics to troubleshoot and repair equipment, minimizing downtime and costs.
  • Assist production and sanitation teams as needed, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, assessing and repairing equipment to limit plant downtime.
  • Maintain secondary production equipment, such as conveyors and simple machines, according to a preventative maintenance program.
  • Develop strong relationships with team members, supervisors, and managers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Report defects, errors, and machinery issues to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Complete daily work sheets, preventative maintenance logs, and other paperwork as required.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and maintain a safe work area.
  • Perform building repairs with a high level of concentration and alertness.
  • Have a thorough understanding of JSA's, SOP's, and HACCP, BRC, or other food safety compliance protocols.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 Education.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • Post-secondary education and training, preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
