Job Summary

CPP Investments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Director to join our Financial Analytics & Planning Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the creation and execution of detailed financial plans and forecasts for departments and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the development and implementation of cost variance models for total Fund and departments, enhancing cost category definitions to ensure efficient and accountable management of costs.
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end activities that underpin our cost reporting systems and data warehouse, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop expense oversights and controls and establish a shared understanding of cost definitions.
  • Monitor cost performance by measuring relevant cost drivers against actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Support an efficient business planning process with Finance Business Partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and organize the monthly and quarterly close process for management cost reporting for CPP Investments to support both internal reporting to the Senior Management Team, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors as well as the Annual Report.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in preparing budget, forecasts, and ex-post cost variance analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management companies or financial institutions with a commercial approach to decision-making.
  • Exemplify CPP Investments Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership, and high performance.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with experience in automation tools and planning software (e.g., Tableau, Think-cell, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management) to improve the effectiveness of processes.
  • Demonstrate resilience in the face of change and can effectively manage competing demands.
  • Proven track record in managing and mentoring staff.
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA would be an asset.
