Veterinary Technician: Animal Care

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Ottawa Humane Society. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional animal care and support to our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position working 72 hours per biweekly. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality animal care, assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional animal care and support to our team
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures and exams
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Develop and implement animal care plans
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education and experience in veterinary technology or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and welfare
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods
