The Senior Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of stress testing and scenario analysis methodologies, contributing to the effective management of risks associated with market fluctuations and external influences on business portfolios and products.

This position requires the application of advanced analytical techniques and technologies to create models and supplementary tools that evaluate the impact of stress scenarios on risk capital, ensuring comprehensive identification and understanding of risks while enabling effective risk management strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Summarizing statistical findings and formulating actionable business recommendations to inform risk management activities.
  • Defining risk tolerance levels, capital modeling, and assessing liquidity and recovery strategies.
  • Fostering a workplace culture that aligns with the Bank of Montreal's values, promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Attracting and developing top talent, while enhancing team performance through recognition and coaching.
  • Recommending and implementing solutions based on thorough analysis of business issues.
  • Leading the development and maintenance of stress testing methodologies and frameworks.
  • Coordinating database management to ensure compliance with data governance standards.
  • Building and executing change management plans, leading various initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the status of the stress testing program to stakeholders.
  • Providing specialized support for regulatory requirements and ongoing operational programs.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, complemented by a degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of stress testing methodologies and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in statistical and numerical software.
  • Deep expertise in quantitative risk modeling and regulatory capital calculations.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills.
