Job SummaryThe Director of Finance will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our financial management systems, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and policies. This includes overseeing the preparation and submission of budgets, financial statements, and other reports. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with experience in public sector accounting and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement financial management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and policies.
- Lead the preparation and submission of budgets, financial statements, and other reports.
- Oversee the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Provide financial guidance and support to senior leadership and program directors.
- Develop and implement internal control systems to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies.
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Minimum of six years of senior management level experience in a public sector accounting environment.
- Extensive experience in financial accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, risk management, and financial and strategic planning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and preparation of Board reports.
- Ability to lead with credibility, integrity, and trust while achieving results and fostering a positive team culture.
