Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Head of Internship Programs will oversee the leadership of the Internship Development Program and Employment Services at Accoravillage, including the management and support of program managers in areas such as partnerships, strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and operational goal setting and tracking.


Program Development and Implementation:

In collaboration with program managers, you will spearhead the creation and management of innovative internship programs aimed at enhancing skills for participants with disabilities, including our Internship Development Program and Employment Services (employment initiatives, workshops, job coaching, and job development).

You will devise and execute an effective outreach strategy to cultivate and strengthen relationships with community partners, funders, and employers.

Working alongside program staff, you will ensure optimal client service delivery through the implementation of personalized action plans, data collection, and report preparation.

You will guarantee adherence to Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) and compliance with program requirements as outlined in service contracts for all initiatives.

You will collaborate with program managers to coordinate marketing efforts, social media content, and events in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team.

You will represent Accoravillage in business community networks and collaborative initiatives.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and program managers, you will develop, review, revise, and operationalize annual plans, particularly in relation to identified outcome measures.

You will coordinate with the Research department to identify community needs and gaps in programs and services, and work with program managers to implement initiatives based on these identified gaps.

In collaboration with Research and program leads, you will support the implementation of the Program Impact Framework to measure and collect data related to outcomes, goals, and impacts for participants in each program.

You will assist in identifying and developing suitable program policies and procedures in accordance with governmental contractual obligations and health and safety protocols.


Leadership and Personnel Development:

You will provide guidance, coaching, and expertise to program managers and staff in the areas of partnerships, strategic planning, budgeting, and staffing.

You will conduct performance evaluations and assist staff in identifying and pursuing professional development opportunities.

You will support program managers in the recruitment, training, and management of employees, placement students, and volunteers within programs.

You will cultivate a work environment that values and promotes teamwork, inclusion, and accountability, establishing rapport and maintaining effective relationships with staff, volunteers, funders, and community partners.


Administrative and Financial Oversight:

You will manage, coordinate, and monitor program budgets, funding requirements, commitments, and targets.

You will contribute to the program budget development process and ensure services are managed within budgetary guidelines.

You will analyze and report on program activities, providing recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team regarding strategies and activities that enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.

You will support the development and submission of funding proposals, program reports, and data collection.

Candidates should possess post-secondary education in Social Work, Disability Studies, Social Services, Developmental Services, Behavioral Sciences, Adult Education, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience leading multidisciplinary teams is required.

Experience in creating, managing, and delivering programs, services, and initiatives for individuals with disabilities is essential.

Familiarity with program design, development, and evaluation is necessary.

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products are expected.

Candidates should demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds are crucial.

Proven experience in strategic and business planning, financial and operations management, evidence-based programming, quality management, and enterprise-wide change and transformation is required.

Superior administrative skills demonstrating thoroughness and attention to detail are necessary.

Candidates should exhibit strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels.
