The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role within our communities, positively influencing the lives of residents and fostering meaningful human connections.
As a Community Engagement Coordinator, your daily responsibilities will include:
• Cultivating a vibrant culture that promotes resident wellbeing, choice, and active participation.
• Designing and executing programs that align with established guidelines and brand standards.
• Innovating and testing new resident experiences and initiatives under the guidance of the Resident Engagement Manager (REM).
• Utilizing technology to create, enhance, and deliver both in-suite and group programming that engages residents within the community.
• Assisting The Market in accordance with guidelines, identifying opportunities to better meet residents' needs under the direction of the REM.
• Supporting the volunteer program for both in-person and remote volunteers, including student internships, under the guidance of the REM.
• Adhering to the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Essential qualifications include:
• A degree or diploma in Gerontology, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Health Promotion, or Health Sciences.
• Experience working with seniors, including a solid understanding of motivational principles related to senior health, wellbeing, and leisure activities.
• Certification to instruct land group fitness and, if necessary, aquatic fitness for seniors through a recognized organization, or a willingness to obtain certification within the first 60 days of employment.
• A valid driver's license and/or special class license (or the ability to obtain one within the first 6 months of employment) along with a clean driving record.
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Familiarity with the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Proficiency in Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as virtual communication tools such as Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime.
