We are seeking an Application Security Specialist, Information Protection

Position Overview:

We are in search of an Application Security Specialist who possesses a strong understanding of risk evaluation, vulnerability assessment techniques, and information protection principles. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating security risk evaluations for both internally developed and third-party/open-source applications, establishing security protocols, and providing guidance to various application teams within the organization. Your contributions will be vital in documenting and developing security measures while ensuring adherence to established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzing and documenting processes, policies, controls, and standards to ensure compliance with security frameworks and regulations. Understanding technical and architectural challenges from a security viewpoint and providing actionable recommendations. Conducting security assessments and offering insights throughout all stages of software development. Assisting the Application Security Manager in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders related to Application Security. Coordinating secure code reviews with stakeholders, including Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) and Static Application Security Testing (SAST). Performing application vulnerability assessments for web, mobile, web services, and cloud applications. Overseeing manual and automated application Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing, while managing technical documentation including VAPT/Application Security tracking and reporting. Reviewing configurations for Web Application Firewalls (WAF). Collaborating closely with application development teams to integrate security measures within the development pipeline, ensuring an efficient development process with early security checkpoints. Supporting Security Leadership in working with IT Groups to define, develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive long-term application security strategy. This includes creating threat models for web applications and assisting development teams throughout the agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Aiding in the evaluation, selection, onboarding, and management of Application Security vendors and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

Strong understanding of application design and architecture. Proficiency in manual and automated penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Fortify, Backtrack Kali, Metasploit Framework). Knowledge of programming languages (.Net, C#, JavaScript, etc.), cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), and database technologies within the security context. Familiarity with WAF technologies, security frameworks (OWASP-TOP 10, SANs-TOP 25, CWE), and participation in Bug Bounties & Capture the Flag (CTF) activities is advantageous.

Essential Skills:

Exceptional verbal communication abilities. Strong written skills for preparing reports and briefings. Excellent analytical reasoning capabilities. A problem-solving mindset.

Educational Background:

• Post-secondary education, university qualifications, and relevant technical certifications are required.

• Certifications and Skills:

Preference will be given to candidates holding CISSP certification. Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) is a plus.
