Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize database instances across development, staging, and production environments
  • Restore database services as needed, including after hours and on weekends
  • Provide guidance on database design, tuning options, and troubleshooting
  • Configure database monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve database performance
  • Verify that Service Level Agreement (SLA) objectives for database server topology, configuration, and maintenance are met
  • Establish performance baselines and detect deviations, suggesting and implementing improvements
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration
  • Linux System Administration experience
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL
  • Apache Tomcat experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of virtualization
  • Expertise in query performance optimization
  • Experience developing and maintaining documentation
  • Prior experience in production and on-call environments
  • Storage and server hardware experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of relational database management systems
