We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our database systems to ensure seamless performance and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and configure database instances across development, staging, and production environments
- Restore service to databases as outages occur, including after-hours and weekend support
- Provide guidance on database design, tuning options, and troubleshooting
- Configure database monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
- Optimize database performance by identifying and implementing improvements to slow-running queries
- Verify that Service Level Agreement (SLA) objectives for database server topology, configuration, and maintenance are met
- 3+ years of experience in database administration
- Linux System Administration experience
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL
- Apache Tomcat experience preferred
- Deep understanding of virtualization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Prior experience in production and on-call environments
- Storage and server hardware experience a plus
