Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at A&W. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our food meets the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work Term: Permanent

  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Work Setting:

Our restaurant is a fast-paced environment where you will be working with a team of staff to ensure that our customers receive excellent service and that our food is prepared to the highest standards.

Tasks:
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that our restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality food and service.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, and ensure that they are aware of our high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation and ensure that our inventory is managed effectively.
  • Ensure that our food and service meet quality control standards and that our customers receive exceptional service.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that our staff are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.
Supervision:

You will be supervising a team of 5-10 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties to the highest standards.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel. You will also be required to work under pressure and maintain a high level of concentration.

Personal Suitability:

We are looking for a candidate who is a team player, has excellent oral communication skills, and is able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities, newcomers and refugees, youth, Veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
