Role Overview: We are currently seeking an IDD/BIM Manager to become part of our Urban Transportation Solutions team, focusing on the ONxpress GO Rail Expansion project. This role encompasses overall accountability for ensuring that BIM, GIS, and digital construction practices across various project disciplines (including design, estimating, planning, and construction) adhere to established standards and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coordination across all technical work streams throughout each project phase, from design to construction.
  • Oversee technical work streams, which may include engineering disciplines, design management, digital engineering, sustainability, engineering surveying, asset management, and industrialization.
  • Ensure that BIM and GIS delivery aligns with Aecon's IDD BIM processes and assist the Technical Compliance Director with future developments.
  • Manage the resourcing profile for the IDD team on the project, based on BIM objectives established during the bidding phase.
  • Act as a liaison between the Client's BIM representatives, the consultant BIM team, Aecon, and any joint venture partners or subcontractors.
  • Support the project in achieving BIM outcomes, ensuring information is delivered and coordinated across engineering disciplines and project packages.
  • Report and manage interfaces between engineering disciplines, design, and construction activities through BIM to support the IDD process.
  • Ensure validation reports are generated to verify Information Models in accordance with ISO 19650 and the Institute for BIM in Canada toolkit.
  • Develop and implement a BIM training matrix tailored to the project's needs.
  • Manage contract obligations related to Consultant and supply chain Information Models and Delivery Plans to facilitate the development of federated models and ensure compliance with Aecon's IDD Information Requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in IDD implementation within large rail infrastructure construction projects, with a preference for complex P3 transit projects.
  • An engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and civil construction experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of BIM Standards.
  • Experience with common data environments such as ProjectWise and Aconex.
  • Experience across all project lifecycle stages.
  • A strong advocate for inclusion and diversity.
