IDD/BIM Manager

Aecon is seeking a highly skilled IDD/BIM Manager to join our Urban Transportation Solutions group. As a leader in infrastructure development, we're committed to building what matters for future generations to thrive.

As an IDD/BIM Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects, leveraging your expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). You'll work closely with our technical teams to develop and implement BIM strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement BIM strategies across project disciplines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements.
  • Provide leadership and support to technical teams, ensuring the successful delivery of BIM and GIS projects.
  • Ensure the right resourcing profile for the IDD team, based on BIM goals set in the bid phase.
  • Manage the link between client BIM representatives, consultant BIM teams, and Aecon's IDD team.
  • Ensure BIM requirements support digital integration across all project functions.
  • Report and manage interfaces between engineering disciplines, design, and construction activities, through BIM to support the IDD process.
  • Ensure validation reports verify Information Models in accordance with ISO 19650 and the Institute for BIM in Canada toolkit.
  • Develop and implement BIM training matrices to meet project needs.
  • Manage consultant and supply chain Information Managers to ensure delivery of federated models and agreed deliverables.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in IDD implementation in large rail infrastructure construction projects, with a preference for complex P3 transit projects.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience/knowledge of civil construction practice.
  • Excellent knowledge of BIM standards.
  • Experience with model federation platforms such as Assemble Systems, Navisworks, and Bentley Navigator.
  • Experience in the implementation of common data environments such as ProjectWise and Aconex.
  • Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
