Job Title: Pediatric Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Surgeon to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our pediatric surgical services.

Job Summary:
  • Work Term: Permanent

  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
  • Experience: 5 years or more

Our hospital is a leading pediatric hospital in Canada, providing comprehensive care to children and families from across the country. As a Pediatric Surgeon, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  • Supervise surgical procedures
  • Treat diseases, injuries and deformities
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Supervise laboratory activities
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
Supervision:

You will work closely with our surgical team to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety. As a Pediatric Surgeon, you will be responsible for supervising surgical procedures and ensuring that all necessary protocols are followed.

Certificates, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses:
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
Specialization in Clinical Medicine:

You will have the opportunity to specialize in pediatric medicine and develop your skills in this area.

Specialization in Surgery:

You will have the opportunity to specialize in general surgery and thoracic surgery.Security and Safety:
