JOB OPPORTUNITY: Core Counselor
About the Role:
Family Services Employee Assistance Program (FSEAP) offers professional counseling services to employees of various organizations who may be facing challenges in their personal, familial, or occupational lives. The program also delivers a range of organizational services to corporate clients, including workplace consulting, training, and critical incident stress management. As a social enterprise of Family Services of Greater Vancouver (FSGV), FSEAP operates as a fee-generating entity, with all profits reinvested to support the broader mission of FSGV and the Greater Vancouver community.

Key Responsibilities:
The Counselor will provide short-term, solution-focused counseling within an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) framework for individuals, couples, children, youth, and families. This role addresses a diverse array of issues, including:
  • Separation and divorce
  • Relationship challenges
  • Parenting issues
  • Family conflicts
  • Grief and loss
  • Aging concerns
  • Depression and anxiety

What You Bring:
Education, Training, Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience providing counseling to individuals, couples, families, and/or children or 2,500 counseling hours
  • Current registration with a regulatory body: RSW, CCC, or RCC

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Excellent clinical skills with a strong understanding of mental health and substance abuse issues
  • Exceptional case management abilities, including knowledge of community resources
  • Proven ability to maintain detailed professional clinical records
  • Proficiency in a second language is an asset, but not required

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
