Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our laboratory team in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specimen collection, preparation, and testing under the supervision of the Chief Technologist or designate.
  • Conduct inpatient and/or outpatient Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing and Holter monitor testing as required.
  • Explain test procedures to patients and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.

Requirements
  • Grade 12 and successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program.
  • One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
