We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team at EllisDon. As an HSE Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Orientation and Training: Develop and implement comprehensive safety orientation programs for new employees and subcontractors, ensuring they understand our safety policies and procedures.
- Job Site Inspections and Hazard Identification: Conduct regular job site inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Accident and Injury Reporting: Investigate and report all accidents and injuries, implementing measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Training and Development: Organize and conduct training programs for employees and subcontractors on safety procedures, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, and CPR/First Aid.
- Safety Culture and Communication: Foster a safety-first culture by promoting open communication, encouraging employees to report safety concerns, and recognizing and rewarding safe behavior.
- Joint Health and Safety Committee: Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee inspections and meetings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of safety supervision experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations in Ontario, Canada, and a strong understanding of industry best practices.
- Certifications: Possession of or working towards the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.
- Leadership and Influence: Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
